Wayne Davis, owner of Apple Grove Woodworks, earned a Judge’s Choice Award of $100 for his impressive collection of handmade wooden objects. From the sweet, little jewelry boxes to lovely cutting boards, from elegant snack trays, to attractive game tables, every piece is fashioned using a variety of woods and polymers to create objects that are functional as well as beautiful.

A Judge’s Choice Award of $100 went to Bob Bohannon for his unique Seashore Carvings. Bob uses discarded wood such as pieces of fallen trees, old two-by-fours, leftover construction scraps, etc. from which to carve out his hanging or free standing sculptures. After he carves his shapes he sands, polishes and paints them turning them into pirate faces, sharks, parrots, etc. There’s even a 12ft rendition of Sasquatch in his collection.

Angel Lee, proprietor of Twisted Sister Jewelry, came away with a Judge’s Choice Award of $100 for her innovative and dazzling jewelry collection. Using a variety of materials such as sea glass, semi-precious stones, silver wire, polymers. etc. she creates unique, sophisticated pieces that anyone would be proud to own.

Whitey Methany, the owner and creative mind behind Methany's Handmade Knives, received a Judge’s Choice Award for $100 for his amazing exhibit of hand fashioned knives made for every purpose under heaven—hunting, fishing, cooking, etc. Each piece is a work of art with its tooled blade and it’s handle made of steel combined with wood, stone, or colorful polymers. Every knife comes with its perfectly fitting sheath that Whitey himself makes out of leather.

Michael Gillespie, owner of Expert Metal Works, received the Honorable Mention Award for $200 for his very inventive iron sculptures. His creative genius leads him to pair off the most unlikely objects such as a cast iron pan with spoons or some such, to create a turtle. In his hands a pair of pliers becomes a mama bird feeding her metal fledglings. His abstract creations of spheres and metal rods dance in perfect balance and an old golf club magically turns into a giraffe’s head.Mr. Gillespie will use all of his proceeds and prize money to help the victims of Hurricane Helene.
